Project Highlight: the Midway Hearth

A Study in Timeless Balance

Nestled in the heart of Midway, Utah, our latest project is more than just a residence; it’s a masterclass in blending heritage with a modern pulse. Designed for a vibrant family of six, this home captures the cozy, alpine spirit of Midway while embracing the clean lines of 2026 design.

The Design Vision

Our goal was to achieve a "Traditional-Transitional" aesthetic. In the world of architecture, that’s a delicate dance between honoring the past and welcoming the future. We drew inspiration from the classic European-influenced farmhouses of the Wasatch Back, then layered in sophisticated, contemporary details.

The standout feature of the Benton House is its relationship with the outdoors. By utilizing oversized glazing within a traditional silhouette, we’ve created a space where the family can enjoy the Midway winters from the comfort of a high-performance, contemporary interior.

"Oversized glazing" is a fancy architectural term for massive expanses of glass that go well beyond the size of standard residential windows.

Think of it as the "Transitional" bridge in your design: while the house has a traditional shape, the oversized glazing makes it feel modern and high-end.

The palette is rooted in neutrals—creams, and natural oaks—ensuring that the home remains "timeless" rather than "trendy." It’s a space built for muddy boots, Sunday dinners, and quiet mornings watching the sunrise over the peaks.

A Legacy in the Making

Ultimately, the Midway Hearth is a testament to the idea that a home can be both a sanctuary and a statement. By marrying the grounded, rhythmic proportions of traditional mountain architecture with the expansive, light-filled transparency of oversized views, we’ve created a space that feels as if it has always belonged to the Midway landscape—yet looks toward the future. For this family of six, it isn’t just a house; it’s a backdrop for decades of mountain sunrises and shared stories. It is proof that when you balance heritage with innovation, the result is truly timeless.
